Annsgrove

Annsgrove house and gardens have been taken over by the OPW and the garden is open to the public on Sat and Sun for the month of June. The house is not ready for viewing yet. A group of our members had a river tour last Sat with the head gardener and architect. He is very pleasant and is passionate about what he does. In conjunctiom with Patrick Ainsley he is planning to bring the gardens back to their former glory. It is beautiful and it is peaceful. I plan to go back next year to see the progress.
Annsgrove is just outside Castletownroche. Ring Avondhu/Blackwater for a booking. 022 46580.
Entry is free.

CROSSWORD

A group from Mallow went to see the play "Crossword" by young playright from Charleville Katie Holly. It was held in the library in Mallow and is touring the local libraries. It was excellant entertainment , I cried and laughed. One of the actors was local man Dan Buckley who was brilliant as the older man. The other actor Tadg( I think) was very versatile could mimic male or female voices and was hilarious. Well done Katie!

Glasnevin cemetary

A group from Mallow visited Glasnevin cemetary recently. We had been there several times in the past but some people had not seen it and we have new members. They had a very interesting tour and enjoyed it very much. They had a lovely meal in the Brian Boru restaurant nearby and were served outside as the weather was lovely.
