a few days in Ballybunion by the sea.

Mike and Jean Stubbs and myself were invited by Rene Collins to spend a few days at her holiday home in Ballybunion last week. the weather was fabulous of course sunshine and heat that we seldom get.I had a lovely seaweed bath on one of the days and it was delightful. my skin feels so silky now!
the beach was packed every day and it was difficult to get near by car. There were people down there at 8 oclock claiming there spot like you would see in Spain! We were concerned about the very young children there it was so hot. However they were really enjoying it and of course it was the start of their holidays

Youghal June 2018

On 21st June we had our day trip to Youghal and it was a wonderful sunny day and being the longest day of the year we made the most of it. Our first stop was at Water Rock Golf club where we were made very welcome with tea/coffee and scones with cream and jam.
Our next stop was Youghal where we were met by Fr Pat Winkle and his mother Joan from Mallow. Some of our group went with Timmy on a boat trip up the Blackwater and found it most enjoyable.
Others went on a tour of the clack tower with Shirley  assisted by Hugh and Grace. it was most enjoyable and informative and I would definitely recommend it. In spite of the many steps there was no problem with any of our elderly members.
later some of our group went on a walking tour with Sheila. It was hot and we were getting tired but it was very enjoyable none the less. Youghal is steeped in interesting history but its the guides that make the difference and these were excellent. In the afternoon we went to Redbarn to enjoy the beach and food at the Quality Inn. Later we had dinner in the Walter Raleigh which was excellent . an enjoyable day for all.
